DTI's First-Ever UCD Graduate - Jorge Shols

May 16th marks an important day for DTI: Jorge Shols is graduating with a B.S. in Psychology. He is the first DTI student to complete his bachelor’s degree. For anyone who has yet to be graced with Mr. Shols’s acquaintance, he is a shining example of what education can do for you. A well-spoken man and an analytical thinker, Jorge is interested in social psychology—that is, studying social issues and understanding how people think about the world around them.

At the outset of his educational experience—which started in Peru, continued at CCD, and culminated at UCD—Jorge knew what he wanted. “My goal was to get a bachelor’s,” he said. Though his self-determination and motivation were important factors in his success, he admitted that “we need interconnection.” He went on to say that DTI offers a great “support system.”

As for what he plans to do once he has finished trekking to classes across Auraria, he gave an open-ended answer: “That is a good question.” Whether it’s grad school, professional employment, or a well-deserved break, we are all sure he will find a way to spend his time.
